By using the Neophema Genetic Calculator (this website, "the Tool"), operated by Fida Habib of Gauripur Aviaries, Dhaka, Bangladesh ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Tool.
1. What this Tool is — and isn't
The Tool applies standard Mendelian and Z/W sex-linked inheritance rules to predict theoretical offspring probabilities for the Turquoise Parakeet (Neophema pulchella). It is provided for hobbyist, educational, and reference purposes only.
It is not professional breeding, veterinary, or genetic-testing advice, and it is not a substitute for DNA sexing, proven-pair records, or a qualified avian veterinarian. Cinnamon and Opaline are physically linked on the same Z chromosome; the Tool assumes independent assortment, so real-world clutches may skew from these odds due to crossover, incomplete or inaccurate genotype data entered by the user, or biological variation. Predictions are odds, not guarantees.
2. No warranty
The Tool, its mutation guide content, and its underlying reference data (see References & Credit) are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Genetic data was compiled from community and published sources that we did not independently verify against original scientific literature in every case.
3. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gauripur Aviaries and Fida Habib shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to breeding losses, lost profits, misidentified offspring, or any decision made in reliance on the Tool's output — arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, however caused and under any theory of liability.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of your jurisdiction (for example, liability for fraud, or statutory consumer-protection rights that EU/UK visitors may hold that cannot be waived by contract).
4. Intellectual property
The "Neophema Genetic Calculator" name, the Neophema wordmark and icon, the Gauripur Aviaries brand, and the original guide text on this site are owned by Gauripur Aviaries. You're welcome to use the calculator itself for personal reference and to link to this site. Reproducing, redistributing, or reselling the site's content, branding, or compiled genetic dataset without permission is not permitted.
Third-party reference material we cite (see References & Credit) remains the property of its respective authors or publishers.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use automated tools to scrape, overload, or disrupt this site, and don't use it for any unlawful purpose.
6. External links
This site links to third-party resources (reference documents, a Facebook group, our own social page). We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of external sites.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the site evolves. Continued use of the Tool after a change means you accept the revised Terms. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the latest version.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law in your own country grants you rights these Terms cannot override.
9. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
